Am I a True Medium

So, I have been away for a while but have been very busy working on my mediumship by giving readings. I have found that recently my readings are ones of inspiration, self empowerment, healing and of Love. That is not a Bad thing Right? Normally these readings are coming at a time in your life when you are just not quite ready to hear the message. You are still in the defensive mode and not ready to really take that trip to your inner thoughts or that inner child and heal. There are so many layers of ego that are in the way and not ready to let go. It is amazing how all of these readings work to heal me also. They are issues that I have been dealing with and work everyday to overcome. So at a meeting last night, I was told that I am not a "True Medium" based on the beliefs of the Spiritualist Church simply because a true medium only gives messages that enable us to prove the "continuity of life" - that we live on after death - by demonstrating that we can communicate with and can identify the our loved ones in spirit that are providing the message. I was told that I am more a Psychic Reader if I cannot identify the Loved ones that is giving the message. Well the explanation of a Psychic Reader in Wikipedia is: A psychic reading is a specific attempt to discern information through the use of heightened perceptive abilities; or natural extensions of the basic human senses of sight, sound, touch, taste and instinct. These natural extensions are claimed to be clairvoyance (vision), clairsentience (feeling), Claircognizance (factual knowing) and Clairaudience (hearing) and the resulting statements made during such an attempt.[1] So OK, That works for me too! I prefer the definition of a Medium that Oprah has on her website: A medium uses his or her psychic or intuitive abilities to see the past, present and future events of a person by tuning into the spirit energy surrounding that person. This means mediums rely on the presence of non-physical energy outside of themselves for the information relevant to the person being read.

All I know is that I work with only the Good, Honest and True messages from the other side, whether they be your loved ones, your spiritual guides or your guardian angels that want to send you a message of Peace, Love or Joy. Yes, sometimes I can identify the spirit but in most cases I cannot. I have always thought- that it really doesn't matter if I can identify the giver of the message, to me, it has always been about the message! Don't get me wrong- it is amazing when your Loved ones that Passes identifies themselves. It is a closeness that has been missed. I have sat with mediums that it truly felt that I was sitting with my Mom and Dad at the table by the conversation that we were having and that was Amazing. I have given readings like that and they are special.

So maybe one day I will grow into my mediumship and be able to identify the spirit everytime that is delivering the message but for now- I am a Medium, Psychic or whatever you want to call it- But I know one thing- I am truly inspired by the messages that I give and the healings that are offered to those that need to hear the words. You are Loved! You are Amazing! You are so Special! And you do not even have a clue what is in store for you- just stop putting up those walls- and allow the Love to Flow!
